Montagu Hospital Comforts Fund

Home

The Montagu Hospital Comforts Fund was founded in 1948 when hospitals were transferred to state administration and the NHS was established.

Since then there has been a need for continued voluntary aid. The Montagu Hospital Comforts Fund has provided financial assistance for additional amenities which could not be covered by the NHS for the benefit of all users of the hospital.

The majority of income is generated through the following sources:

  • Donations from individuals
  • Legacies from local people
  • Profits from the Hospital Tea Shop which is run  by volunteers
  • Local community organizations
  • Mexborough Montagu Hospital Charity Football Cup Committee
